An overview of what Certified Peer Recovery Specialists are and do, including the history of the movement, skills needed to be an effective CPRS, and work settings that are commonly encountered.

This is a 2 day overview of what Certified Peer Recovery Specialists are and what we do. We take a look at the history of the Peer movement, an overview of what it means to be a Peer, skills needed to be an effective CPRS, and common career paths available to CPRS. We explain how to explore your own recovery story and give participants the opportunity to draft and refine their personal recovery story. Participants then practice sharing their story in the safety of the classroom setting. We also review in depth the next steps required to become certified.
