January 2025: Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Training - Zoom

Peer Certification Training is for people currently working or volunteering in peer support who want to become Certified Peer Recovery Specialists in the state of Delaware. This course provides participants with all of the information needed to take the Certified Peer Recovery Specialist exam. Additionally, participants will gain knowledge and practice skills to strengthen their abilities as peer supporters.

This is a 4-week course which will begin on January 6, 2025 and will end January 29, 2025.

There will be required attendance on all sessions through Zoom on the dates below. Most live sessions begin at 9 am and will end around 12 pm.

Zoom conferencing can be accessed through a smartphone, computer, tablet or by phone (dial in). Participants will have the best experience completing assignments through a tablet or computer. Using smartphones to complete assignments is strongly discouraged.

You must participate in the live sessions and complete all assignments to receive your Certificate for 50 Training hours.

Successful completion of this course will provide you with all of the training hours needed to apply for the Peer Recovery Specialist Certification in Delaware.

Seating for this training is not guaranteed. There is an application process. Minimum requirements are as follows:
• Applicant must be at least 18 years of age.
• Applicant must have a High School Diploma or GED
• Applicant must have direct personal experience living with mental illness and/or addiction in recovery. (For our purposes, supporting or living with someone with mental illness or substance use disorder does not qualify)
• Applicant must be willing to self-disclose lived experience for the purpose of education, role modeling, and providing hope to others about the reality of recovery.
• Applicant must have at least 2 months experience working or volunteering under supervision in a peer role.
