March 2025 CEU: Women's Mental Health: The Mind and the Body (A Two-Part Series)

Celebrate Women’s History Month with us by exploring the connection between women’s mental and physical health. This two-part series will dive into the unique challenges women face due to gender norms, bias, and unequal access to care—key issues that impact both those seeking support and those providing it in peer support work.

Part 1: The Mind (March 12th) – We’ll discuss how history and society shape women’s mental health, including gender bias in healthcare, the impact of our identities, and how social expectations affect well-being. Understanding these influences will help peers in their support work, allowing them to meet others with greater empathy and open-mindedness.

Part 2: The Body (March 26th) – This session will focus on gaps in women’s healthcare, especially in mental health research and reproductive health, and explore ways to advocate for better support and change. Peers will learn how these gaps affect the clients they support and gain tools to help bridge them through their work.

By learning more about these issues, we can strengthen our peer support efforts, build understanding, and take action toward a future where women’s mental health is truly valued and supported.
